The pic on the left was at my heaviest I had ever been after doing a terrible dirty bulk back in 2014 after about a six months of lifting. I was eating everything in sight because that’s what I was told by all the gym bros to do back then. If you wanna get big you gotta eat big so I ate everything. • The pic on the right is during this last prep around 4 years later and around 4 1/2 years of experience. I honestly have lost track of how long I’ve been lifting tbh it’s probably more 🤷🏽‍♂️ • In between these photos and those 4 years there were about 2 cutting phases where I dropped bodyfat over time by counting my macros and being in a deficit. That’s how I’ve always done it and it works best for me and my lifestyle. • Since Ive been competing in jiu jitsu the last two years, my progress for bodybuilding and growing muscle has been slow bc I’ve been in a deficit and that’s not best for making gains. The best approach to building muscle is being in a surplus/bulk for a lot longer rather than constantly cutting bc you want to keep the abs. So don’t be afraid to grow the pansa my dudes it’s necessary. • Also I know I’ve been talking about bulking and growing but tbh I never really see myself doing bodybuilding at a high level naturally. I love doing bodybuilding as a hobby and helping people throughout their own journeys by changing their bodies. Instead I see myself competing in jiu jitsu bc I love it so much more, even though my body is saying fuck no right now. In order for me to be competitive I feel like I need to be in a certain weight class and that’s what I’m going to do. So the gains might have to take a back seat while I try to figure out this whole situation. • Sombrero or pizza next time ? • I don’t look like the right as of now I’m weighing around 160-162 right about now with a little pansa coming in. • If you read all that you’re a real ass homie and I appreciate the support and the love I’ve gotten from you all since I’ve started this page. @delaesthetic delaesthetic Jesus De La Cruz
